turkey apple burgers

Upgrade your next backyard barbecue with these delicious turkey burgers. They’re lean and stay moist with added scallions, celery, and apples.
Serve on a whole wheat bun with lettuce and tomato. Instead of ketchup, try adding mango salsa for extra flavor.
These burgers freeze well and are still great leftover.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup scallions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- 3 granny smith apples, peeled and diced
- 1/8 cup canola oil
- 4 lbs ground turkey breast
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/2 bunch parsley, finely chopped
The process

Step 1
saute the scallions, celery, and apples in canola oil until tender. Let cool.

Step 2
in a large bowl, add ground turkey, sautéed items, salt, pepper, lemon juice and parsley.

Step 3
shape into 4 oz burgers.

Step 4
place burgers on preheated, lightly oiled grill. grill on each side for 5 minutes until meat is cooked through.
